8vo. Original original cloth, gilt-lettered spine (spine a bit darkened, light soiling to extremities). Provenance: Anthony Robinson (inscription dated 1946 on front free endpaper, recipient of author's inscription).
FIRST EDITION. INSCRIBED BY DURRELL: "Heil Anthony, from Larry Durrell, 'old hat new look' 1973." Thomas & Brigham 7 ("The first of Durrell's books to be published by Faber who suggested a pseudonym because Pied Piper of Lovers had been a failure."
