8 volumes, 8vo (220 x 140 mm). EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED by the addition of 320 proof engravings and original drawings and watercolors by G.F. Sargent (British, fl. 1846), each captioned in manuscript; each volume with additional manuscript title-pages and table of contents listing the extra illustrations, both with proof engraved vignettes. Late 20th century tree calf with single cord frame gilt, spines in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, red and olive morocco lettering-pieces gilt, others completely gilt with floral devices, top edges gilt, stamp-signed by J. Rimell (spines lightly sunned, joints lightly rubbed),
