Small folio. 50 photographic plates tipped in, including 12 original hand-colored gelatin silver prints by Mennie, each with a short descriptive note by Lieut. Comdr. H. Foote Carey, who accompanied Mennie on the second trip. Original pictorial silk binding; publisher's? box.

FIRST EDITION, LIMITED ISSUE, number 68 of 1000 copies. ONE OF THE MOST SPECTACULAR PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORDS OF THE UPPER YANGTZE, taken during two excursions in the low-level season. The first on a steamer from Ichang to Chungking, during poor weather, and the second between Ichang and Wan Hsien. A VERY BRIGHT COPY.
