English daguerroetype / wet plate tailboard transitional camera with walnut body, lacking a maker's mark. Based on the rear design, this example likely started as a wet plate camera but may have made daguerreotype images. With bellows that appear to be in very good condition considering age, 5 x 5 in. plate holder, and ground glass. The Petzval-type lens is marked by Frederick Cox of London, S/N 4623. 16 1/2 x 8 x 7 1/4 in. when fully extended.
