**Webley Mark V Double Action Revolver 1st Military District Marked
World War I
.455 Webley. 4" barrel length. SN: 150728. Blued metal finish with checkered black synthetic birdshead grips, lanyard loop to butt, and fixed front blade with latch rear notch sights. Double action six-shot top break automatic ejector revolver. Left topstrap struck with model marking MARK "V" preceded by British military proofs and Broad Arrow marks. Left frame struck WEBLEY/MARK V/PATENTS/1915 with further proofs to left triggerguard, rear frame, and broad arrows over the balance of parts. Serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. Right barrel and frame struck 1MD/415, indicating it to be gun number 415 issued to the 1st Military District consolidating Queensland and the Northern Territory, in addition to Papua and New Guinea WWI.
