U.S.A. with the uncircled {Rampant Colt} logo behind the cocking serrations. Right slide struck MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY. Left frame struck with the JMG marking of inspector John M. Gilbert, consistent with many Colt 1911 pistols made during World War I. Barrel is struck SP on the left lug with left chamber marked PX-1, indicating it to be a WWII replacement.
