Lot Description

Lot of Three Swords: 1872 Light Cavalry, 1840 NCO, and European 1860

1.) 33" blade length. 40.5" overall with scabbard and hilt. Curved single edge single fullered blade mounting brass knuckle bow with two branches, peened tang, and leather wrapped and wire bound hilt. Comes with a steel brazed seam scabbard with two hanging loops. Ricasso of blade marked PHILA/PA below most likely a former J.H. Wilson mark.

2.) 31.75" blade length. 38.5" overall with hilt. Striaght single edged fullered blade with cast brass hilt featuring clamshell guard and peened tang. Ricasso marked U.S./1862/FSS to the right and C. ROBY/W. CHELMSFORD MASS. maker mark.

3.) 35" blade length. 42" overall with scabbard and hilt. Curved single edge double fullered blade with brass hilt featuring two branches to guard and spiral engraving to brass parts. Hilt is wrapped in leather and bound in wire. No visible maker marks on ricasso. Iron brazed seam scabbard features two hanging loops.
