Lot Description

Remington New Model Army Revolver
American Civil War

.44 Cal. 7.625" barrel length. SN: 121185. Mottled gray patina with buffed cylinder mounting sanded and refinished two piece walnut grips. Single action six-shot percussion revolver with front blade and topstrap rear notch sights. Item shows standard three-line address and patent mark to the top of the octagonal barrel. Martial markings include J initial on the left frame and C and W on opposite sides of the forcing cone. Faint traces remaining of a cartouche on the left grip panel. The loading lever latch stud appears to have been replaced, with a plug to the barrel behind it that appears to penetrate the barrel. {ANTIQUE}
