Colt Model 1851 Navy Fourth Model Revolver
American Civil War

.36 Cal. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 175974. (Mfg. ca 1864) Brown patina overall with brass gripstraps mounting one piece walnut gripstraps with octagonal barrel, replaced front sight, and hammer rear notch sight. Single action six-shot percussion revolver with Ormsby's Naval Engagement scene to cylinder, and COLTS/PATENT to left frame. Standard caliber mark to left triggerguard, and single-line address to barrel. There is an M initial struck into the butt, but no other visible martial markings. Serial numbers match on frame, gripstraps, arbor pin, cylinder, barrel, and wedge pin. Grips have been sanded. Rear barrel deformed along its lower edge, possibly from period repair, with similar deformation to muzzle. {ANTIQUE}
