Rare Italian Piedmontese Model 1844 Artillery Musketoon by Bordoni
Crimean War
.72 caliber. 28" barrel. NSN. Bright finish, brass and steel furniture, European hardwood stock. Single shot muzzleloading percussion smoothbore musketoon with heavy 3.5" Brunswick style bayonet bar at muzzle, fixed notch rear sight on tang, blade front sight, sling swivels and a trumpet head ramrod. Back action percussion lock marked A BORDONI/BRESCIA. Angleo Bordoni worked as a gunmaker in Brescia, Italy circa 1850-1859 (Stockel). A scarce Crimean War era Kingdom of Piedmont pattern firearm that is rarely seen on the market for sale. {ANTIQUE}
