**Early Navy Arms Engraved 1860 Henry .44-40

.44-40. 24.25" barrel length. SN: E47. Blued finish with polished firing pin and brass frame mounting walnut straight wrist stock with brass crescent butt. Lever action repeating rifle charged by a front-loaded tube magazine featuring adjustable ladder rear notch and front blade sights on an octagonal barrel. Top of the barrel shows two-line marking HENRY'S PATENT OCT 16 1860/MANUFACT'D BY NAVY ARMS CO. RIDGEFIELD, N.J. Barrel further marked E47 behind the rear sight. The frame features spiral scroll engraving over a dotted background with double line borders in a representation of mid-19th century New York style scroll engraving. {C&R}
