Lot Description
**Early Hand Engraved Navy Arms Model 1866 Yellowboy in .44 WCF
.44-40. 19" barrel length. SN: 11911. Blued metal finish with gilt gunmetal receiver and butt mounting walnut straight wrist stock and forend, and folding ladder rear notch and front blade sights. Lever action repeating rifle fed by a tube magazine charged from the rear. Item shows standard Italian firing proofs and Uberti maker markings on the lower tang. Barrel address reads NAVY ARMS CO. RIDGEFIELD N.J. MADE IN ITALY within an engraved banner. The complete frame, barrel bands, lever, hammer and rear barrel are all richly embellished with deep floral scrollwork over a beaded ground. Buttplate is solid and without trapdoor, and features matching engraving. No visible engraver signature. {C&R}
