Lot Description
**Left Handed German Drilling Marked August Husing
8x57 and 16 Gauge (2.5" chambers). 23.625" barrels. SN: 1060. Blued and color casehardened finish, steel mountings, horn triggerguard, checkered European hard wood pistol gripped stock with raised cheek rest on the right side and grooved hard rubber buttplate, tapered checkered forend. Length of pull 14.125", drop at comb 1.625", drop at heel 2.625". German drilling with matted top rib cut for claw style scope mounts, folding express leaf rear sight, blade front sight, double triggers with the rifle trigger adjustable, sliding thumb safety and trigerauard mounted safety on left, sling swivel in toe of stock and under barrel. Barrel marked AUGUST HUSING, possibly the maker, although Husing is not listed in Stokel or any other reference. Barrel with Krupp steel marks and {Crown}/N Nitro proofs. Matching serial numbers on both the receiver and barrels. A former owner's Social Security number is marked on the left side of the one of the shotgun barrels with an electropencil. Receiver with relief engraved decorations consisting of foliate themes and game scenes with stags, boars and birds. Receiver tang, standing breeches and lever engraved ensuite. {C&R}
