Lot Description
**L.C. Smith Monogram 12 Gauge
12 Gauge. 30" barrel length. SN: FWE72271. 2.75" chamber length. Modified Left. Improved Modified Right. Casehardened metal finish with blued small parts and barrels mounting Circassian walnut semi-pistol grip stock with factory replaced beavertail forend. Double barrel side by side sidelock ejector shotgun with single selector trigger. Sights consist of twin beads on a matted rib. Checkering features a prominent Fleur de Lis motif on the wrist. Engraved manufacturer markings include L.C. SMITH Monogram GRADE over the rear rib and dollshead, with gold border separating it from the matting. Right barrel is engraved SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL and the left MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON, N.Y. The M for Monogram marking is struck into the jeweled barrel flats below the serial number, and on the watertables. The frame, sideplates, and rear barrels are richly engraved with Rose and Scroll pattern typically encountered on Monogram grades, with flying birds to each sideplate, and a duck on the lower frame. Inlaid gold S for Safe below the blued and engraved tang safety. The triggerguard features a gold inlaid signature reading Albert Daub, with the toe lacking an oval plate. Forend is engraved EJECTOR/PATD/MAY 28 1901 with a further number 2 engraved behind the forward screw. Left side of the trigger plate is engraved HUNTER ONE TRIGGER with L and R marks below the selector. Shotgun comes with an LC Smith Collectors Association letter dated August 25, 2022, affirming that this shotgun was made in 1924, and was one of ten Monogram grade shotguns built that year. 14" length of pull. 1.75" drop to comb. 2.25" drop to heel. 7.51 lbs. {C&R}
