Mass Arms Co Wesson & Leavitt Dragoon Revolver
American Civil War
.40 caliber, 7.25" round barrel, SN: 205. Blued and color case hardened finish, brass triggerguard, smooth walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with tip up hinged frame, six-chambered un-fluted cylinder, fixed notch rear sight and brass blade front sight. Top strap marked MASS ARMS CO/CHICOPEE FALLS, lock marked WESSON'S & LEAVITT'S PATENT. Face of frame numbered 205, no other numbers noted. Face of cylinder rotating ring with patent date information. Only about 800 of these large frame, medium bore percussion holster revolvers were produced circa 1850-1851. {ANTIQUE}
