Lot Description

**Scarce Pre-War 27 Code Erma Produced Mauser K-98

7.92x57mm. 23.62" barrel length. SN: 4333b. Blued metal arsenal refinish mounting replaced laminated wood semi-pistol grip stock with stock disk and reinforcing bolt. Bolt-action internal magazine fed repeating rifle with standard adjustable tangent rear notch and inverted-V front blade sights. Receiver is dated 1939, and shows the pre-war factory code 27, indicating the rifle was manufactured by Erma-Werke. Standard Mod. 98 model mark in gothic letters to left receiver. Barrel shank struck with a bore gauge reading of 7,931. The rifle shows {Eagle/280} waffenamt marks, correct for pre-war Erma rifles, to various parts. It appears three times on right receiver, on bolt latch, on bolt latch spring, three times on right barrel, firing pin, twice on bolt handle, safety flag, front sight, bolt sleeve, twice on trigger plate, once on magazine floorplate and cocking piece. These aforementioned components match the serial number, but the stock and remaining stock fittings do not, likely replaced when it was rearsenaled. Comes with a reproduction sling. {C&R}
