Lot Description

**1918 Dated Erfurt Produced P.08 Luger Pistol
World War I

9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 4480l. Blued metal refinish with checkered walnut grip panels and nitre blued springs. Short recoil operated toggle action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Toggle link shows the standard {Crown/ERFURT} marking while the date on the barrel extension reads 1918. Item exhibits standard Imperial German army inspection marks including the {Reichsadler} stamp to left breechblock right barrel, and barrel extension. Further shows Gothic letter inspection stamps to major parts. Bore gauge reading of 8,83 to the barrel. Serial numbers match on most components, but the sideplate is not numbered and exhibits a very rough appearance suggesting it was likely rebuilt after suffering extensive pitting. The locking wedge for the takedown lever has a split seam, suggesting this part was also rebuilt. Toggle pin is replaced. Comes with one nickel plated magazine with wood baseplug showing a weak non-matching serial number. {C&R}
