Lot Description
**German 16 Gauge Guild Shotgun with Triebel Locks and Stiegele Barrels
16 Gauge. 28.375" barrel length. SN: 31. 2.5" chamber length. Cylinder chokes. Browned barrels with the frame in the white mounting walnut straight-wrist stock with multipoint checkering to wrist and forend, cheek pad to left stock, and horn finger rest and lever. Double-barrel side by side hammer fired extractor shotgun. Item features German style floral scroll engraving on the lockplates and frame, and enclosing the checkering to the wrist. Barrels further embellished with gold inlaid patterns at breech and gold signature to left barrel reading KONGL. BAYR. HOFGEWEHRFABRIK and V. C. STIEGEIE MUNCHEN followed by steel maker marks PRIMA KRUPPSCHER/GUSS STAHL. Lockplates signed E. TRIEBEL. Firing proofs include two Imperial German Eagle proofs per chamber, along with {Crown/U}, {Crown/S}, and {Crown/W}, along with 16 gauge markings. Presence of choke marks suggests the barrels may have been cut down. {C&R}
