**2 Japanese Rifles: A Type 99 Arisaka Rifle with Ground Mum, Anti-Aircraft Sights and A Navy Marked Type 38 School Gun
World War II
1.) 7.7x58mm. 25.9" barrel length. SN: 92995. Blued metal finish mounting wood semi-pistol grip stock with spliced toe. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Item features the anti-aircraft legs to the rear sight with the barrel band cut for mounting the monopod. Item lacks dustcover and monopod. Comes with cleaning rod. Left receiver shows the {Kokura Arsenal} mark and 22nd series marking. Item displays standard Type 99 Kanji to the barrel with a ground Imperial Chrysanthemum. Muzzle has been counterbored. {C&R}
2.) 6.5x50mmSR Blank. 31.4" barrel length. SN: 14839. Blued metal finish with polished bolt and wood semi-pistol grip stock with half length upper handguard. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating blank firing training gun. Bore is not rifled, and the barrel shank was never struck with the Chrysanthemum, as is correct for school guns. Item shows an {Imperial Japanese Anchor} to the receiver with no type markings. A School gun built on the basis of an older Type 38 Arisaka rifle. The cleaning rod is a rough reproduction of the slot head with only a few inches of rod to hold it in place. {C&R}
