Lot Description
**Springfield Model 1903 Rifle, 1920 Barrel, Fine Bore
World War I & II
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 1209530. Parkerized arsenal refinish mounting walnut straight wrist stock with ladder rear notch and pinned front blade sights. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Receiver is marked U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903. with barrel marked SA/{Ordnance Bomb}/11-20. The ordnance bomb is punch dot marked, as is the circle P to the wrist. Left wrist shows the boxed DAL cartouche of inspector Daniel A. Leary in addition to the S.A./S.P.G. cartouche of Stanley P. Gibbs, who oversaw the repair of old stocks of 1903 rifles after World War II. Trapdoor butt contains a cleaning kit with oiler, bore snake, and brush. {C&R}
