Lot Description
**Rock Island Model 1903 Completed at Springfield Arsenal
World War I & II
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 411986. Parkerized arsenal refinish mounting straight wrist walnut stock with adjustable ladder rear notch and front blade sights. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle. High serial number indicates this rifle was completed at Springfield Armory using a Rock Island built receiver. Receiver is marked U.S./ROCK ISLAND/ARSENAL/MODEL 1903. Barrel date mark reads SA/{Ordnance Bomb}/4-27, indicating the barrel was dated in April, 1927. The Ordnance bomb has been punch dot marked. Stock has been lightly sanded with left wrist showing a weak OG EK marking suggesting it was rebuilt at the Ogden Arsenal. Lower receiver tab for the magazine floorplate is broken preventing the floorplate and follower from being installed. Stock has been glass bedded. Stock void of tools. {C&R}
