Lot Description

*Colt Model 1911A1 Custom by Armand Swenson

.45 ACP. 4.125" barrel length. SN: 2622784 (mfg. ca. 1945). Hard chrome plated finish mounting black rubber Pachmayr grips and Smith & Wesson revolver style adjustable rear notch and matted front ramp sights. Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Original manufacture markings include UNITED STATES PROPERTY and M 1911 A1 US ARMY to the right frame, and the FJA initials of inspector Colonel Frank J. Atwood to the left. Left slide is struck with the initials P.M.G. Interior slide signed ARMAND SWENSON on the underside of the breechblock. Custom features include: matted upper slide, checkered rear slide, checkered forward gripstrap, checkered mainspring housing cut down to flat, beveled magazine well, squared-off and checkered triggerguard, trigger adjustable for overtravel with checkered face, A.D. SWENSON/GARDENA, CALIF. marked ambidexterous safety lever, custom fitted and cut down barrel and slide, and checkering to the upper surface of the grip safety. {MODERN}
