US Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle Altered to Forager Style Shotgun
Indian Wars
.46" caliber. 21.625" barrel length. SN: 447841. Blued metal finish with casehardened frame and breechblock mounting walnut straight wrist stock secured by a single barrel band and mounting a brass bead front sight. Low-arch breechblock is marked U.S/MODEL/1873, while the lockplate is struck US/SPRINGFIELD beside the {US Army Eagle}. Left barrel marked V/P/{Eaglehead}/P. Item features a two-click action, two-piece triggerguard with sling loop, and a serrated trigger. Original rear sight dovetail has been filled in. Left counterpane struck with the boxed JSA/1894 cartouche of inspector Joseph S. Adams. {ANTIQUE}
