Both items featuredrop point blades with etched texturing to the guards and fasteners full tang construction, and Mastadon ivory grips. The longer knife is etched WEINAND on the left ricasso while the shorter displays the longer mark WEINAND/LOLO, MT. Both ricassos are marked Mastadon on the right side with the blades further marked Dendritic D2. Shorter knife further shows banknote style animal vignettes to the grip scales with left showing a bull elephant walking with the signature TURNING BEAR, and the left showing a water buffalo among grass on the right. The other knife displays light grip texturing.

Born in North Dakota in 1935, Gerome Weinand moved to Montana in 1955 after returning from the Korean War. In 1982 he sold his first knife made of metal and micarta scraps, and gradually honed his craft in the years that followed. Weinand favors simple and highly functional patterns embracing traditional fittings and techniques.
