Receiver shows the {Arrow in Circle} manufacturer marking of Podolsk followed by 1941 date marking. Left receiver exhibits a boxed SA mark indicating Finnish capture and service. Serial numbers mixed, as is typical of Finnish captured examples. Most likely arsenal refinished. Scattered Soviet arsenal stamps to major components. Sporterized modifications include: barrel cut down from its original length of 24.6", omitting the muzzle brake and front sight tower, dovetail cut applied to the gas regulator to install a front blade sight, masking tape applied to shim the barrel, rear sling swivel replaced by an aftermarket model retained by a single screw, and the butt cut down to install a STOEGER rubber recoil pad with white spacer.
