Lot Description

Two Tibetan Dorje Phurba Ritual Daggers

1.) 3" blade length. 9" overall. Ritual knife with an unsharpened three sided blade richly decorated with motifs relating to Vajrakilaya, a wrathful form of the Buddha. Pommel is decorated with the triple faces of Vajrakilaya wearing a single crown, while the blade projects from a dragon's maw. Two serpent heads flank the upper blade while their tails conjoin along the spine of the lower. Item shows some welding marks suggesting the blade has been rebuilt on multiple occasions.

2.) 1.75" blade length. 8.5" overall. Ritual knife with a silver finish featuring an unsharpened three sided blade and decorated with Vajrayana Buddhist motifs. Pommel decorated with three faces, one is the wrathful face of Vajrakilaya while the other two bear a more calm and feminine aspect. Pommel further adorned with a giraffe's head emerging from the peak of the crown. Two serpents tangle on the blades.
