Attractive Composite Reconverted US Model 1828 (1816 Type III) Musket

.69 caliber. 42" barrel. NSN. Browned finish, brass pan, iron furniture, full-length walnut musket stock. Single shot flintlock smoothbore muzzleloading musket with three flat, spring retained barrel bands, sling swivels, brass blade front sight and an old replacement button head ramrod that is not full length. 1837 dated reconverted Springfield lock is mated with an 1830 dated contractor barrel, not an arsenal barrel. Stock may be arsenal with an illegible script cartouche on the counterpane and another illegible script cartouche behind the triggerguard in the position of a Springfield Arsenal final inspection. {ANTIQUE}
