Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle loaded via a trapdoor to the right receiver. Receiver marks read MODEL 1898. followed by U.S./SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. Wrist shows a circle P marking and the boxed JSA/1899 cartouche of Joseph S. Adams. Sights consist of a model 1902 rear notch with the right sight base struck C for carbine and paired with a standard Krag rifle upper handguard. {C&R}
