Item mounts a stippled brass buttplate with banner reading John Oberlies./Dayton. O. Original manufacturer markings include ZBROJOVKA BRNO, A.S. VZ. 24. with WWII German Waffenampt marks to the receiver. Barrel is signed by barrel maker J.E. GEBBY., and additionally marked NO. 598 before caliber marking TRADEMARK REG./.22 VARMINTER. Stock is embellished with silver inserts, a classic feature of John Oberlies custom rifles. These include silver maple leaves to the flanks of the stock, acorn to upper wrist, and an arrowhead on the forend. Oval plate to the toe of the stock is engraved JOE/LEDBETTER/DAYTON/OHIO.
