*John Oberlies Custom Vz 24 in .22 Varminter with Unertl Scope

.22-250 Remington. 26.5" barrel length. SN: 3232. Blued metal finish with Oberlies pattern jeweling to the bolt body, extractor, and cocking handle, stippled bolt knob, and set in a walnut Monte-Carlo style stock with bordered multipoint checkering to the wrist and Schnabel forend. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating custom rifle built by John Oberlies of Dayton, Ohio on a Czech VZ 24 donor rifle. Item mounts a stippled brass buttplate with banner reading John Oberlies./Dayton. O. Original manufacturer markings include ZBROJOVKA BRNO, A.S. VZ. 24. with WWII German Waffenampt marks to the receiver. Barrel is signed by barrel maker J.E. GEBBY., and additionally marked NO. 598 before caliber marking TRADEMARK REG./.22 VARMINTER. Stock is embellished with silver inserts, a classic feature of John Oberlies custom rifles. These include silver maple leaves to the flanks of the stock, acorn to upper wrist, and an arrowhead on the forend. Oval plate to the toe of the stock is engraved JOE/LEDBETTER/DAYTON/OHIO. The rifle features a low slung safety flag to clear the scope, front and rear sling swivel studs, and a front blade sight on a matted ramp with no rear iron sight. Item mounts a J. UNERTL/OPT. CO. marked 15 X scope, serial number 53069 mounted on J. UNERTL marked scope bases. {MODERN}
