Lot Description

**Belgian Military Marked GP-35 Browning Hi-Power

9mm Para. 4.65" barrel length. SN: 22712. Blued metal finish with two tone one piece barrel matted on the front and polished on rear mounting checkered walnut grips. Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable double stack magazines mounting tangent sights and a dovetail mounted matted front blade. Rear sight is primarily blued with polished finish to top, and graduated from 50 to 500 meters. Butt features the stock cut for mounting a shoulder board, and the pistol features the internal extractor. Left slide struck FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/HERSTAL BELGIQUE/BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE. Belgian military proofs include circled H stamps to the left slide, to the chamber, barrel lug, trigger, and left frame. Further PH marks struck into the left triggerguard and left frame. Belgian firing proof marks include circled E/GB/{Star}, {Lion/PV}, and {Star/E} to the frame, barrel, and slide. Barrel additionally struck with the Liege {Crown/ELG} stamp. Left frame is stamped with a boxed A initial below the grip panel, a circled H near the butt, and an S mark. Interior of the left grip panel is struck RAR, and both grips are painted red on the inner surface. Item comes with a total of two magazines, one unmarked, and the other struck with circle H and A within a square, in addition to a further weak circled marking. Also provided is a leather Belgian military style flap holster with period wear and brass fittings. An attractive example of a pre-war Belgian military Hi-Power pistol. {C&R}
