7.92x57mm. 23.62" barrel length. SN: 769b. Blued metal arsenal refinish overall set in a laminated wood semi-pistol grip stock and mounting adjustable tangent rear notch and inverted-V front blade sights. Bolt-action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips manufactured in 1939 by ERMA Werke. Receiver shows the 27 factory code for ERMA Werke, a date marking of 1939, and a Mod. 98 model mark to the left receiver. The barrel shank displays a 7,92 bore gauge reading. Receiver struck with three {Eagle/280} waffenamt marks, and one {ERMA Eagle Inspection} mark to the left receiver and left barrel. Serial numbers match where observed on all parts. Toe of the stock struck with P marking as well as two {Eagle/280} waffenamts, with similar marks struck to the right butt below an Erma Eagle and H initial. Further {Eagle/280} waffenamt marks are struck into all major parts. Comes with an unmarked cleaning rod that appears to have been buffed at some point, and a leather sling that shows a D&C maker mark to the buckle for Dransfeld & Co. of Menden, Sauerland, a prolific maker of slings. A complete and numbers matching example of a scarce pre-war Erma Werke K98k. {C&R}
