Brass Barrel Flintlock Snap Bayonet Blunderbuss by Barber & Boiler
About .65 caliber (1.35" at muzzle). 14.125" multi-stage pinned brass barrel with cannon muzzle. NSN. Brass barrel and furniture, checkered straight-gripped walnut stock. Single shot muzzleloading flintlock blunderbuss with top mounted 12.5" triangular snap bayonet and brass tipped wooden ramrod with iron jag at end. Flat stepped bolted flint lock with integral rounded, fenced and bridled iron pan, roller frizzen with curled toe, and flat faceted swan neck cock. Lock remains in original flintlock configuration. Lock marked in three lines BARBER/&/BOALER, top of barrel marked NEWARK, left angled breech flat with dual {CROWN/CROSSED SCEPTERS} Tower private proof marks. Isaac Barber & Joseph Boaler worked in partnership in Newark, Nottinghamshire c1804-1817.
