Grooved wood grip covered in shagreen with 15 wraps of multi-strand wire. Blade etched with floral, martial and patriotic motifs. Reverse ricasso etched in three lines Ames Mfg. Co./Chicopee/Mass. The sword is accompanied by a browned steel scabbard with gilt brass mounts. The reverse of the upper mount is marked in three lines: AMES MFG. Co./CHICOPEE/MASS.
