Lot Description
[Tintype] Union Private with .32-Caliber Revolver
Sixth-plate tintype of a Union private wearing a light-color (probably gray) slouch hat that’s looped up on his left side, with a single feather.
The infantry hunting horn insignia appears to be embroidered. The oval belt plate is an 1839 Pattern that’s been gilded with a "US" device. The revolver is a .32-caliber (rimfire) No. 2 Smith & Wesson Old Model revolver.
