Lot Description

[Daguerreotypes] Four Sailors and Goldminers

Three sixth-plate daguerreotypes of sailors and/or goldminers along with one ninth-plate daguerreotype of a sailor.

The first image shows a strong serious man in a blue shirt that is often seen in goldmining scenes.

The second piece is a man in a work shirt that could be related to goldmining.

Third is a hand tinted rough looking sailor who possibly also worked in the gold mines at one time. Hand tinted belt and oval belt buckle with a large tinted handkerchief tucked in his blue shirt.

The last plate is a smiling sailor with a ribbon attached to his hat and design on his tie.

This is a multi-item lot, so special packing fees apply. See the shipping terms for details.
