The snake has been a popular jewelry motif since Ancient Times. However, during the reign of Queen Victoria it gained tremendous popularity. Queen Victoria's engagement ring was in the form of a snake. This late Victorian diamond and emerald snake bracelet is particularly endearing with an articulated tongue and during this Year of the Serpent snake jewelry is ever popular.
