[NATURAL HISTORY]. KENNION, Edward (1744-1809). An Essay of Trees in Landscape. London: Henry G. Bohn, 1844.
Folio. Aquatint vignette on title-page, 62 engraved plates including 4 folding, several by Kennion's son Charles, 8 by H.W. Williams inserted at end. (Spotting throughout.) Original dark olive cloth, gilt-lettered spine (spine ends and fore-corners frayed, library call number on spine, some spotting to upper cover). Provenance: Hereford Public Library (rubberstamps on several plates and title-page).
SECOND EDITION, a reissue of the 1815 edition using the same sheets but with the addition of 4 plates and the publisher's printed slip pasted on the title-page. cf. Abbey, Life 147 (1815 edition).
