2 volumes, 8vo. With half-title. 20th-century half brown morocco gilt (joints slightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION. McLean served with the Hudson's Bay Company from 1821-45 throughout Canada. According to Sabin, he "depicts with great fidelity and veracity the manners and condition, toils, privations and perils of the Indian hunters," and according to Stanton & Tremaine, his narrative is "one of the classics of wilderness travel."
