8vo. With photogravure frontispiece, 35 half-tones, & color-printed folding map. (Some light spotting, a few leaves stained.) Publisher's green cloth decorated in silver. Provenance: John B. Nance (humorous pencil inscription: "Stolen from Y.M.C.A. New Delhi, Aug. 1912"). FIRST EDITION. In 1912, Bruce, his new guide, Heinrich Fuhrer, and a small party (including his wife) made notable ascents up to 19,000 ft., including a passage of the newly-discovered Muztagh Pass. His account includes detailed descriptions of the region between Garhwal and Kashmir, and between the Indus and Sutlej Rivers. Neate B198.
