48 volumes, 8vo. With a proliferation of plates and illustrations (some folding). Original printed wrappers. A partial complete run, comprising issues for 1962-2005 and the Index volume (1929-1976). The Journal regular features on ascents and expeditions, book reviews, altitude medicine and Arctic and Antarctic expeditions. Some highlights include the first American ascent of Everest (1964), a transcription of Harry Karstens' diary of the first ascent of Mt. McKinley (1969), and the first American ascent of K2 (1979).
