FIRST EDITION, American issue (with cancel title-page, printed & bound in England for U.S. distribution). Merzbacher's second scientific expedition into the Tian Shan of Russian and Chinese Turkestan, and his only work in English. Neate M85; Yakushi (1994) M325. A very fine copy.
