The six men of the Northern Party spent 21 months separated from the rest of their companions, firstly at Cape Adare, and later in the ice cave. The first edition is somewhat rare, as many copies were destroyed by fire at the publisher's warehouse, caused by a Zeppelin attack, during the War.
