8vo (140 x 227 mm). With 6 aquatint plates. (Some offsetting to title-page, a few pale spots.) Modern half calf over marbled boards, uncut. FIRST EDITION. M'Keevor's account provides detailed descriptions of icebergs and the Inuit people he encountered as a ship's doctor on the Selkirk expedition of 1812. Contains a short additional account of the French naval officer Christophe-Paulin de La Poix Frminville's Voyage to the North Pole (London: Sir Richard Phillips, 1819). The present copy is the earlier issue with 76 pp. in the first part (another issue has 78 pp. with preface included in pagination).
