8vo (252 x 164 mm). Original wrappers (some chipping, occasionally with losses, particularly to corners and spine ends, a few old tape repairs to spine, hinge broken). FIRST APPEARANCE of Nabokov's shortest novel, which was first separately published in 1938. According to Nabokov's introduction to that edition, he wrote the text in 1930 in Berlin. Juliar C320. [With:] "Poety" ["The Poets"]. - "Iz komnaty v seni svecha perekhodit" ["From room to hallway a candle passes"]. In: Sovremnnye Zapiski [Contemporary Novels] No.69 Paris: July 1939. 8vo (244 x 160). Signed "Vasilii Shishkov." Original wrappers (some very light wear, early tape repair to foot of spine). RARE: According to American Book Prices Current, no copy of either of these works have appeared at auction in the last 45 years.
