Lot Description
COKE, Edward, Sir (1552-1634). The third part of the Institutes of the laws of England. London: M. Flesher for W. Lee and D. Pakeman, 1644.
Folio (293 x 187 mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece signed "I. Payne," title printed within elaborately engraved border, final epilogue leaf, 14pp. table (not called for by ESTC) bound in at end. (Some staining, a penultimate leaf torn with slight loss to a few letters, last leaf of table and rear endpaper lacking about a third and defective.) Contemporary calf, spine in 7 compartments with 6 raised bands (some light wear). FIRST EDITION.
