An Early George III Mahogany Secretary Bookcase THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY in two parts, the superstructure having a molded projecting cornice with dentiled decoration and a fretwork band carved to show foliate scrolls above two glazed doors with mullions opening to three shelves, the base fitted with a fall-front opening to a fitted interior with carved fretwork decoration and a leather-inset writing surface, further over two aligned short drawers and three graduated long drawers, raised on ogee bracket feet. Height 78 x width 38 x depth 18 inches.
