A Large Blanc-de-Chine Porcelain Standing Figure of Buddha Shakyamuni
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
the figure depicted standing on a single lotus base, wearing voluminous robes and a draped shawl opening to his chest revealing beaded chains and a swastika symbol, his left hand holding a blooming lotus flower, his right hand lowered in varadamudra, his face bearing a serene expression underneath tight knots surmounted by an ushnisha, the reverse incised with a double gourd-form two-character mark reading Dehua and a four-character markt reading Xu Yunlin zhi (made by Xu Yunlin) within a square panel, raised on a fitted rosewood stand.
Height 20 1/2 inches.
