A Samurai Kanata SIGNED KISHU MONJU SHIGEKUNI SAKU with the metal saya painted brown, a scored habaki, an obitori decorated with a chrysanthemum overlaid with a cherry blossom, a double-banded ashi, a semegane with a slightly foliate form, a cherry blossom decorated koiguchi and an ishizuke decorated with cherry blossom motifs and an hourglass shaped opening on either side, the ishizuke bearing a six-character makers mark on one side, the other side a manufacturing number reading 213917 ban, the nakago bearing a mekugi-ana and inscribed with a nine-character makers mark, the mune of ihori form and the boshi of yakizume shape, the hamon forged in the suguha fashion with an exceedingly straight form to it.
