JOUVE, Paul (1878-1973). Le Roman de Renard dans la version de Maurice Genevoix. Avec des illustrations de Paul Jouve gravees sur bois par Jacques, Camille et Georges Beltrand. Paris: Editions Vialetay, 1958.
4to (375 x 280 mm). Title printed in brown and black, numerous woodcut illustrations after Jouve. Contemporary tan crushed levant, smooth spine gilt-lettered, top edge gilt, others uncut, wide turn-ins gilt-ruled, green watered silk doublures and endpapers (spine slightly sunned and with a few stains, a few very minor scuffs); leather-tipped sipcase. LIMTED EDITION, number 109 of 198 on Rives SIGNED BY JOUVE, GENEVOIX, and BELTRAND. The story of Reynard, an anthropomorphic red fox in the medieval allegorical fables, illustrated by Jouve, noted for his artistic portrayals of animals.
