Lot Description

An American Mahogany Shelf Clock SILAS HOADLEY, PLYMOUTH, CONNECTICUT, CIRCA 1830 the shaped crest with stenciled decoration depicting an eagle clutching arrows in its talons above the glazed and mirrored door opening to a painted dial with Arabic numeral hours flanked by shell spandrels, the lower reverse painted panel depicting a town in a pastoral landscape marked Time is Money, all flanked by columnar pilasters, raised on carved paw feet. Height 36 3/4 x width 17 7/8 x depth 4 7/8 inches.
